Description:
Unquiet by Sally Beamish is a 6-minute set of variations for solo Guitar that explores the Dowland lute song Unquiet Thoughts. The Dowland theme comes last in this piece and is preceded by five variations with different references to the lute song and various moods. Unquiet was written as part of the Royal Academy of Music's bicentenary project: a collection of 200 new solo pieces. It was first performed by Sergiu Hudrea at the Royal Academy of Music on 25 January 2022.
