Recorded on the John Fedchock New York Big Band's CD No Nonsense, Blue After Two is a slow blues, with subtle sophisticated harmonies placed over an after-hours roadhouse 12/8 groove. After the subtle opening, the chart heats up with solos by alto sax, trombone and bass, and features powerful ensemble passages, along with an accapella chorale section with the horns, all culminating in a down and dirty ensemble shout. Trumpet 1 to written High F. 5/4/5/P/B/D. Difficult.
