This work was commissioned by Geoffrey Herdman for the 2006 Paxos Festival and first performed on August 31st 2006.

Written for soprano and piano with text taken from Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Measure for measure and Othello.

With words by George Herbert, this was originally written for the NMC Songbook in 2008.

This version of Aria for Soprano and Piano is an arrangement of the original version scored for Soprano, Flute, Cello, Celesta and Percussion.
