Description:
The spirited outer movements of Sopraltbariteno live from varied rhythms, time signature changes, pulsating chords and special effects (fluttering tongue and blasts of air). A great fun for well-established ensembles. The slow movement impresses with its calm, melancholically flowing character, in which the soprano saxophone pauses at times and the alto saxophone takes the lead. The movement 'Cantilène' from the composition 'Petit Quatuor' by the French composer Jean Françaix (1912-1997) served as inspiration.
