Throughout 2022 the Royal Academy of Music celebrated its bicentenary on a colossal scale by commissioning 200 composers to write works for solo instruments. Porphyry by Joby Talbot was one of these 200 works and this piece for solo oboe is energetic in style and spirited in sound allowing for flexibility and freedom with the oboe melody.
