Description:
The Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67, was written by Ludwig van Beethoven between 1804-1808. It is one of the most popular and best-known compositions in classical music and one of the most often played symphonies. The first movement (Allegro con brio) is in the traditional sonata form that Beethoven inherited from his classical predecessors, Haydn and Mozart. It starts out with two dramatic fortissimo phrases, the famous motif, commanding the listener's attention.
