Description:
This book is made for children from primary school (or from music school or conservatoire) who approach a collective instrumental practise for the first time. It is the result from ten years of experience in school environment at Urbain le Verrier Primary School (Nantes, France). The method, based on a training by imitation, is meant for teachers of artistical courses, teachers in primary school but also for musicians operating in school environment. This first volume is dedicated to brass (french horn, trumpet, trombone and tuba) and percussions. The method is made up of a teacher's book and 10 posters (2 about orchestra's phrasing and sound making, 8 about performing repertoire). It also offers a personal book for the child who wishes to train and practice between two lessons. This method gives the child who only performs in a group a feeling of security, allowing him to develop his ability to listen (to him or others) and gives him a personal satisfaction as he can take part in concerts just after a few month of training. Urbain's band Book 1 represents a brand new tool for the whole people working to develop art education.
