The most popular Christmas songs have been prepared with the beginner pianist in mind. Most of the carols can be played after a few weeks of learning. Melodies have been harmonised in the traditional manner, using limited pitch material. Various methods of leading the melodic line and textural treatments are used: playing with the right and the left hand alternately, simple imitation, two-voice arrangements.
