Description:
Humoreske (Humoresque) was No. 5 in a collection of 7 Salon Pieces (Morceaux de Salon, Op. 10) for solo Piano. It was written by Sergei Rachmaninoff in the summer of 1983, and first publishedin 1894, being one of his earliest published works.
Sergei Rachmaninoff (1873-1943) was a Russian composer and pianist, who was able to push the boundaries of virtuosic Piano composition through his incredibleskills as a performer. Through his rich textures and expressiveness, he is often seen as the last great member, if not the pinnacle, of the European Romantic movement.
