Description:
A selection of 25 of Leroy Anderson's great melodies. His first piece, 'Jazz Pizzicato', was published in 1939 whilst he was conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra. . Almost all of Anderson's compositions were originally written for orchestra, and almost all were about three minutes in length. 'Concert music with a pop quality' is how Leroy described his own work with some of his most popular pieces incorparating familiar sounds such as a typewriter, a carriage bell, an alarm clock, sandpaper, and a horse whinny.
