The Prelude (Vorspiel) dates from either 1846 or 1852, the Fugue from 1861 and the Postlude from 1846. These three works show the young Bruchner and give us a clear insite into his serious character. Also included in this volume is the Prelude in C major (Preludium) written in 1884 which represents Bruchner at his most mature.
