2 Flutes %26 Piccolo, 2 Oboes, 3 Clarinets in Bb (3rd below the break) 2 Bassoons
2 Horns in F, 3 Trumpets in Bb (3rd easy), 3 Trombones, Tuba, Timpani (2 drums, 1 player),
Percussion (Bass drum, Cymbals, Side drum, Glockenspiel, Triangle)
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Violin 3 [easy], Viola, Cello, Bass)
Piano (optional - no separate part, only shown in score).
The minimum number of instruments envisaged is strings, flute 1, clarinets 1 %26 2 and trumpets 1 %26 2. The piano part in the score is primarily to assist at rehearsals but it can also be used in performances if there is a shortage of the lower instruments. Where the word 'harp' appears in the piano part these chords should be played arpeggiando. This March has been arranged from the Suite 'Sigurd Jorsalfar Op.56'.
