Description:
Piano reduction , Klavierauszug of Concerto in D Major GWV 310 for Flute and Piano
The Concerto GWV 310 follows the three-movement type that Antonio Vivaldi had devised in Italy, consisting of two fast movements and a slow middle movement. Unlike Vivaldi, however, Graupner was less concerned with virtuosity in the solo part – the register chosen by him does not pose a particular challenge either. The opening movement in particular is dominated by the autonomous, highly engaged solo part. Following a free entry, the soloist initially takes up the main motive of the movement before focusing exclusively on a variety of different musical figures: broken triads and fast tone repetitions as well as implied compound melodies...
