Description:
This arrangement for string orchestra uses most of the thematic materials contained in the original. A very short introduction leads to the first waltz theme sounding beautiful and warm in the viola and cello sections. The second, brighter theme is stated by the first violins. These two sections return in different voicings which keep the piece unfolding constantly. The third theme provides a perfect change for cello and bass sections to play melodically. The first two themes are brought back and lead to the coda, keeping the tunes joyfully whirling to a dramatic conclusion.
