The Chanson du Toreador (Toreador Song) from Act II includes the lesser-known but exciting introduction before the more famous lyrical portion of the March is heard. Then La Garde Montante (Children's Chorus) from Act I serves up a light but highly energetic dance-like theme. Range requires 1st Violins to use some 3rd and 4th position; cellos use limited 4th position and some 3rd position for convenience.
