The German composer Manfred Schneider (Ketsert am Rhein, 1953) has played the French horn in the Koblenz Police Band for many years. His band compositions such as Rock and Go, Splashing Sounds and Songs of Freedom have first been performed and promoted by several German Police Bands. Schneider writes sparkling and rhythmical music that sounds very up-to-date. This is also the case with these 'Three American Snapshots' in which the composer draws three atmospheric portraits resulting from a trip to America. With some imagination the listener can dream a similar trip.
