Description:
Everybody loves a Strauss waltz and they can be guaranteed to put a smile on the face of the audience during a concert. This waltz was composed in 1888 by Johann Strauss, Jr. and many people consider it to be his best composition - even rivalling The Blue Danube. The Kaiser-Walzer has a quiet, rather melancholic opening, entirely in character with the personality of the calm and dignified monarch Franz-Josef to whom it was dedicated. It is full of playful motifs and refined surprises and the lilting melody is sure to make everyone want to get up and dance.
