Amberwood Overture is in ABA form. There are no key changes and the rhythms throughout are simple, thus allowing extra rehearsal time for tone development as well as attacks and releases. The attacks are especially important as different instruments are required to make independent entrances. The relatively thin scoring allows each section the opportunity to be heard and provides an incentive for developing a characteristic sound. (3:15)
