Description:
This very old pop tune comes here in an easy arrangement, but though with extensive content, written for flexible instrumentation. 'The Glory of Love', composed by Billy Hill (1899 - 1940), was first released by Willie Bryant and His Orchestra in 1936. Benny Goodman's version from the same year became a number one pop hit. The song has been recorded by a long list of artists; The Five Keys (1951), The Platters (1956), Peggy Lee (1958), Dean Martin (1966), Otis Redding (1968), Bette Midler (1988), Paul McCartney (2012) and many others. The intention of the arrangement has been to give each of the instrumental parts both melodic and rhythmic tasks, and at the same time keep both melody and accompaniment in an easy level (Grade 2). The Drum part is optional, but will put an extra plus to the arrangement. Please be sure to have a good balance between the instrumental parts, let the melody come through, and always keep the tempo in an easy and relaxed laid-back swing.
