Description:
With the impressive cantata "Verfolge mich, o Welt", Ortus Musikverlag presents a splendid Baroque masterpiece for the festive Christmas season. Scored for the Second Day of Christmas, this work originates from the notable Rudolstadt cantata cycle of 1747/48, 'Erbauliche und tröstliche Lehren' (Rudolstadt 1748), combining profound spiritual depth with stirring musical expressiveness. The rich instrumentation for vocal soloists, mixed choir (SATB), oboe, two violins, viola, and basso continuo creates a warm, celebratory sonic tapestry filled with captivating contrasts between worldly hardship and heavenly comfort. This full score provides choirs and instrumental ensembles with a top-quality edition ideal for historically informed performances and festive concerts. Discover a gem of Central German Baroque sacred music that will deeply touch both performers and audiences alike.
