This piece scored for clarinet, guitar, and cello was commissioned by the Curtis Institute of Music in 2013. The pun in the title hints at the way the three performers wander in and out of focus with one another: at times, playing in time together, at others, not in time. Featuring unusual instrumentation and 20th-century styles, this ten-minute composition requires a high level of precision among the performers, particularly in instances where all parts converge.
