Description:
Gesänge de Unruhe by Sidney Corbett is a 21-minute work for flute, clarinet, piano, violin, viola and cello. The composition is inspired by the writings of Fernando Pessoa published in the volume "The Book of Disquiet". The four movements of the work are purely instrumental chamber music where Pessoa's world is populated by numerous fictional poet personalities, his so-called heteronyms, which are spread out in a polyphonic and also heterogeneous song. Gesänge de Unruhe was premiered by the Modern Art Sextet at the Konzerthaus Berlin on 15 December 2003. This edition (EP14386) is the score and the parts of this work, available for purchase for the first time, as part of the Peters Contemporary Chamber Series.
