World-class guitarist Wolfgang Lendle looked upon the famous Paganini Grand Sonata for guitar and violin and envisioned a wholly-new guitar concerto. Read his thoughts and analysis in orchestrating a full string accompaniment to the original solo guitar part; then rejoice in the addition of a Paganini concerto to the comparable standard repertoire! Handsomely published by Editions Orphée; the new Concerto is packaged as a set of full score and one each of the string parts; with a separately available solo guitar part with rehearsal CD. Lendle's changes to the guitar solo part are few; detailed neatly in his introduction; and the string parts are simple enough for a student string orchestra or string quartet. This piece includes several cadenzas; offered in the spirit of the composer and the work.
