Description:
Chant For Columbanus was composed by Irish pianist and conductor Barry Douglas. It is arranged for Quintet: Flute, Violin, Viola, Cello and Piano, and this item features the Score and Parts. Having studied numerous instruments as a child and going on to study under impressive teachers, Douglas went on to win some prestigious prizes for his playing, perhaps most notably winning gold in the International Tchaikovsky Competition. After making a number of acclaimed recordings of his interpretations of other composers' work, Douglas turned his own skilled hand to composition, producing this brilliant work that was commissioned to mark the 400th anniversary of Bangor being granted a town charter.
