Description:
A Parting Glass for Wind Quintet was inspired by a trip to Ireland in the Fall of 2016. The title of the work is taken from the popular Irish folk song, The Parting Glass, from which several motives are used to build this piece. Another Irish folk song, Cáit Ní Dhuibhir, is also quoted, and the work actually ends with a statement of the closing phrase of that tune.
