Description:
The haunting string quartet "Officium Breve in memoriam Andre Szervánszky Op. 28" is one of the most moving chamber music masterpieces of the late 20th century. Composed in 1988/89, this piece—often referred to as the "Third String Quartet"—stands as a deeply personal and sonically nuanced tribute to the Hungarian composer Endre Szervánszky. It received its world premiere in 1989 at the renowned Witten Festival, delivered in a gripping performance by the acclaimed Auryn Quartet.
Characterized by masterful conciseness, expressive purity, and subtle sonic poetry, this composition offers string ensembles an extraordinary depth of expression. Published by the prestigious Editio Musica Budapest, this premium sheet music edition is an indispensable highlight for ambitious quartets seeking to bring profound emotional resonance and contemporary artistry to the stage.
