Näher mein Gott zu Dir

'Nearer, My God, to Thee' ('Näher mein Gott zu Dir') is undoubtedly one of the most moving and well-known hymns in musical history. With its poignant, heartfelt melody, this timeless work has offered solace, hope, and solemn contemplation for generations. This sensitive arrangement, published by Musikverlag Christoph Dohr, allows the beloved hymn to shine in the warm, noble sonority of a string ensemble. The instrumentation is wonderfully flexible: ideally suited for a standard string quartet (two violins, viola, and cello), it can effortlessly be expanded to a full string quintet with an optional double bass (ad libitum) to provide extra harmonic depth. This practical edition contains the full score (4 pages) along with five individual parts (1 page each) in standard A4 format. A deeply touching addition to church services, memorial events, solemn occasions, and concert repertoire.
