Fiorillos Werk erinnert an Johann Adolph Hasse, zum Teil aber auch schon an Haydn und Mozart. Der Zeitgenosse Johann David von Apell urteilte: 'Fiorillo hatte das Talent eines schönen und schmeichelnden Gesanges.' Besonders dieses Talent macht die Messe zu einer lohnenden Wiederentdeckung.
This charming mass could be well performed by amateur choirs and orchestras. Stylistically, it is classified in the Early Classic. Fiorillos oeuvre is reminiscent of Johann Adolph Hasse, but also partly to Haydn and Mozart. The contemporary Johann David von Apell wrote about him: 'Fiorillo had the talent of beautiful singing.' In particular, this talent makes the mass a worthwhile rediscovery.
