Victor Hely-Hutchinson (1901 - 1947) was a British composer who was born in South Africa. He was recognised at an early age as a musical prodigy, and could sing notes by ear before he could talk. His setting ofOld Mother Hubbard was written c. 1912 while he was still a pupil at Heatherdown Prep School. It is well-known for being a parody of Handel's operatic style.
