Description:
This chart is a tribute to (and quasi-imitation of) the Bill Russo mid-fifties era pieces for the Stan Kenton Orch. Starting with a double time ensemble section, the piece features a strong trombone solo medley (at ballad tempo) for the main statement of the theme. The variations showcase more concerted ensemble double-time and a short alto sax ad-lib solo passage, then concludes with screaming 1st trumpet over a wall-of -sound tutti.
