Description:
The piece is a musical metaphore for the life journey of a central american woman. It begins with a single flute. A harmonized trio of flute, guitar and bass clarinet follows, performing written cadenza-like lines together over soft, sustained winds. The rhythm section establishes an even eighth note medium tempo beat for melodic statements, followed by a bass clarinet solo. Next is a guitar solo, followed by the brassy climax of the chart. The flute returns with the first tempo to perform the final solo over a playful and stately chorale of brass and woodwinds. A spiritual chart.
