Designed for small-group teaching sessions, La forêt fantastique (The Enchanted Forest) offers a collection of 10 educational pieces. They are intended for 2 or 3 C1- level harp students and presented in two illustrated volumes.
Exploring the tonal resources and various playing modes of the instrument (xylo sound, plucked sound, playing with fingernails, glissandi, whistling sound, thunder effect…), the pieces also involve the written, spoken or sung word. Each volume includes a piece in graphic notation that allows for greater freedom of interpretation - the young students' first step toward improvising and creating their own music!
Children will readily relate to the chosen universal and inspirational themes of Nature and real or fantasy fauna.
Easy to read, pleasant, attractive and interesting, this is music young students will enjoy making their own.
Students and teachers alike may give their imagination free rein to «stage» the pieces for public performance.
