Adler was asked for a trumpet and organ piece to celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of Nathan Arnold Schoenberg (great-grandson of Arnold); and Let the Trumpet Sound is the result. After the opening Shofar trumpet call; the piece becomes a celebratory dance between trumpet and organ; as Adler describes it; 'a free expression of the community's joy at introducing another young man into its ranks.'
