Friedrich Goldmann's Oboe Concerto is a 36-minute work for oboe and orchestra. One of the definitive oboe concertos of the 20th century, it appears more like an extended symphonic discourse with an obbligato solo, but incorporates all contemporary playing techniques and has been performed by many well-known soloists. It was premiered by Burkhard Glaetzner and the Orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin, conducted by the composer, on 14 June 1979. This new edition (EP5538a) contains the solo part and the piano reduction.
