Description:
Scronx was an early 17th century church organist in Liege. Many churches of the day contained several different organs in different choir lofts or alcoves of the church. Such built-in antiphonal qualities led composers to write echo works for these organs. These echo compositions lend themselves to the modern flute choir, which can be divided into two groups placed far apart from each other. The bouncing of the music from group to group is very enjoyable and demands special attention from the musicians to echo each other as nearly as possible. While not very technically demanding, the timing and other musical challenges make it a great addition to any flute choir'slibrary and it is sure to please audiences as well.
