Grieg's only piano sonata, the Sonata in E Minor Op. 7 is a beautiful and sincere work, however it is greatly eclipsed by his famous Piano Concerto in A Minor Op. 16, which stands as one of the greatest works in thesolo piano repertoire. This work reflects a young and passionate artist, who is greatly influenced by traditional Norwegian folk music.
