Heathcote Dicken Statham (1889-1973) was a British organist, composer and conductor of international renown. His best-known work is the 1944 magnum opus, Rhapsody On A Ground for soloOrgan.
Statham studied at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and the Royal College of Music in London. He then become organist at Calcutta Cathedral, and later Norwich Cathedral, where he stayed for almost 40years. He also conducted the London Symphony Orchestra throughout the Second World War, earning a reputation for musicianship of the highest standard.
