Description:
Immerse yourself in the sonic mastery of late Richard Strauss with this exceptional volume from Edition Peters. "Works for Smaller Ensembles 2" unites two fascinating late-period masterpieces in a premier full score edition: The cheerful, richly textured Second Sonatina in E-flat major for Winds (AV 143 / TrV 291) – subtitled "Happy Workshop" – captivates with Mozartian lightness and counterpoint sophistication. In poignant contrast stands the world-famous, deeply moving "Metamorphosen" for 23 Solo Strings (AV 142 / TrV 290), an expressive monument of late-Romantic polyphony and profound emotion. This high-quality score is an indispensable asset for conductors, ensembles, and connoisseurs of sophisticated chamber and orchestral repertoire.
