Description:
Leonides (in memoriam Lepo Sumera) / "Leoniidid" is a deeply moving and richly colored work for solo flute and string orchestra. Dedicated to the memory of the renowned Estonian composer Lepo Sumera, the composition blends the expressive virtuosity of the solo flute with the shimmering, dense textures of the string ensemble – creating an atmosphere of profound emotion and radiant poetry. This celebrated work was notably recorded by acclaimed flutist Maarika Järvi on CCn'C Records. Published by Edition 49, this full score is an essential edition for conductors and ensembles seeking to enrich their concert repertoire with an unforgettable modern masterpiece. (The solo flute part is available for purchase; orchestral performance materials are available on hire.)
