The title Collana, meaning 'necklace', describes the form of this 10-minute piece, which comprises 15 short movements. These alternate between free, quasi-recitative and contrasting rhythmic sections, representing the thread and beads of a necklace. This edition includes extensive performance notes by cellist Neil Heyde based on correspondence with the composer.
