Description:
''Allegro de sonate'' was composed by very young artists, just on the treshold of a great career. The work was written in 1848 and thus by the thirteen-year-old Harry and about eleven-year-old Joe. They were then still children, but truly ''child prodigies''. ''Alledro de sonate'' is said to have been an examination task set the Wieniawski brothers at the end of the harmony and counterpoint course at the Paris Conservatoire. It was certainly highly evaluated by the professors and the principals of the conservatory as it was intended for print. It was later often performed by the brothers during their concerts. It became so popular that soon after its first edition it was published by Kistner, the well-known publishing house in Leipzig.
