By the end of the 9th century, the Vikings had defeated all five English Kindoms. The entire country is in the hands of the invaders - except for a small marsh area. Here King Alfred von Wessex is hiding with a few loyal followers. Uhtred, a warrior in Alfred's ministry, knows the supremacy of the Viking Army.
