Description:
This is a brand new original arrangement of this famous Gershwin march with optional part for vocal soloist. George Gershwin (Brooklyn, 1898 - Hollywood, 1937) is not only the composer of 'Rhapsody in Blue', 'Porgy and Bess' and 'An American in Paris', he also wrote some twenty musicals, among which 'Lady Be Good', 'Show Girls' and 'Strike up the Band' (1927, 1930). Gershwin wrote two famous satiric marches 'Wintergreen for President' and 'Strike up the Band'; the latter, heard on Broadway in the musical of the same name, was a mock battle cry for an army that didn't have the slightest idea what it was fighting for.
