Ordered by a federation of municipalities (communauté de communes) of la Vallée de l'Hérault, Mémorial for wind band has been created on November 9, 10 and 11, 2018 within the context of the celebrations of the end of WWI. As the Symphonie funèbre et triomphale of Berlioz, with a strong war connotation, was played in addition, I thought it would be wise to point out the pacific dimension of this commemoration of WWI. This explains why the first of the two movements of Mémorial starts and ends with very completatives moods, with a succession of chorals, sometimes ghostly and sometimes majestic. The second movement is an endless movement, with a very strong pulsed energy, which I hope is communicative. The message is that after war, life goes on.
