It is generally believed that Rossini composed this work as a student project at the Bologna Conservatory of Music when he was very young. It's based on two of Rossini's most moving dramatic arias and remains one of the most popular virtuosic works for clarinet to this day. talian arranger Marco Tamanini transcribed this work for Solo Clarinet with accompaniment of a Symphonic Band.
