Description:
As a composer Franz Lehár started with contributions to the opera-genre but the great triumph of his first operetta 'Die lustige Witwe', (The merry widow), in 1905 made him clear that he had to gif his talents to the operetta. Lehar composed about 35 operetta's, like 'Paganini', 'Der Graf von Luxemburg', 'Das Land des Lächelns', 'Giuditta' and 'Der Zarewitsch', first staged in Berlin in 1927. The famous German tenor Richard Tauber sang the principal part of the young Tsarewich. The duet 'Hab' nur dich allein' is sung by Sonja and der Zarewitsch.
