Description:
Following the success of the composer's Concertpiece No. 1, requested by clarinet virtuosi Heinrich and Carl Baermann, the father-son duo asked for this second piece. Published posthumously, it is composed in three sections, fast-slow-fast, resembling a concertino form, but somewhat shorter. The finale is lighthearted, full of obvious enjoyment in which the technical resources of the solo instruments are exploited to the limit, concluding with a brilliant duo cadenza. Versions with band and piano accompaniment are available from the publisher.
