Description:
Carl Heinrich Carsten Reinecke (1824 -1910) was a German composer, conductor, and pianist. After retirement as a teacher at the conservatory, Reinecke devoted his time to composition. In his great oeuvre there was much place for compositions for flute which are played often even nowadays. Reinecke is best known for his flute sonata 'Undine', but he is also remembered as one of the most influential and versatile musicians of his time. In 1908 he composed his 'Ballade for Flute' Op. 288 which was his last opus number.
