Description:
This Trio for flute, violin and bass clarinet was composed in 1953. Homs adopted the dodecaphonic system in order to get some self control and opposite to the anxiety provoked by his previous 'all is permitted' style. The trio is made up of three movements: Andante, Allegro scherzando and Vivace. The premiere was held on December 30, 1954, in the third program of the BBC. It was performed by Harold Clarke (flute), Richard Temple (violin) and Vera Kantrovitch (bass clarinet).
