Description:
Graham Waterhouse's 'Witches' One-Times-One' for speaking voice and cello is a setting of a poem from Goethe's 'Faust', Part 1. The music mirrors and develops the natural speech rhythms of the poem. The edition contains the 'original version', suitable for students and moderately advanced players as well as as a 'simplified version', intended for children and for less experienced players. The text for both versions is based on an English translation by Bayard Taylor (late 19th century). The original German text is also included. A version of the piece with the German text is also available (order no. N 2667).
